Debbie Dowell, MD, MPH
Senior Medical Advisor for the Division of Unintentional Injury Prevention at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
Commander in the U.S. Public Health Service

Dr. Deborah Dowell, MD, MPH, is Senior Medical Advisor for the Division of Unintentional Injury Prevention at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Commander in the U.S. Public Health Service. She previously led CDC’s Prescription Drug Overdose Team and served as advisor to New York City’s Health Commissioner. Dr. Dowell is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and practiced medicine at a community health center in New York City. She has conducted research on quality and safety in medical care and on the effects of clinical guidelines. She has taught epidemiology, health policy, and clinical medicine for medical students and residents. Dr. Dowell received her undergraduate and medical degrees from Columbia University and her masters of public health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

Jackie Rowles, DNP, CRNA
Associate Professor in Nursing for the College of Osteopathic Medicine
Nurse Anesthesia Program Director at Marian University

Dr. Jackie Rowles is an Associate Professor in the Marian University Leighton School of Nursing and a Clinical Instructor in the Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She is a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) and Board Certified Adult Nurse Practitioner with over 15 years of clinical practice in the specialty of pain management including, expertise in diagnostic and therapeutic injections, pharmacologic therapies, and multi-modal approaches in the treatment of pain. Currently serving as the President of the International Federation of Nurse Anesthetists, Dr. Rowles is an American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) past President and served on the American Academy of Pain Management’s Board of Directors for eight years. She is a fellow in the American Academy of Pain Management and in the American Academy of Nursing.
