Heather Frye, MSN

Heather Frye currently serves as a Co-Track Director of the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program and Assistant Clinical Professor at Drexel University. She is a board certified psychiatric nurse practitioner who has practiced in a variety of clinical settings and has worked with diverse patient populations including active and retired military and their beneficiaries, the severe persistent mentally ill and co-occurring patients. Ms. Frye will be co-presenting Give Power to Word of Mouth: Adding a Clinical Education Component to a Community Service Program on Heroin at the International Nurses Society on Addiction conference in October 2016. She has accepted invitations to present on the opioid epidemic at the Delaware Nurses Association annual conference and on psychiatric nursing with a focus on addictions at the Student Nurses Association of Pennsylvania conference.

Dana Murphy-Parker, MS, CRNP, PMHNP-BC, CARN-AP is currently the President of the International Society on Addictions (www.intnsa.org) Ms. Murphy-Parker is an Assistant Clinical Professor and Co-Track Director for the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Program in the College of Nursing and Health Professions at Drexel University in Philadelphia. Ms. Murphy-Parker received her MS as a Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, Denver. She completed a Post Master’s Certificate as an Adult Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner from Rush University in Chicago and a Post Master’s Certificate as a Family Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner from University of Colorado College of Nursing, Denver. Ms. Murphy-Parker is a Certified Addiction Registered Nurse-Advanced Practice (CARN-AP). Her area of expertise and research have focused in understanding addictions as a healthcare disorder. She has a clinical practice in Philadelphia where she sees patients across the lifespan for mental health care and substance use disorders.

Madeline Naegle, PhD

Madeline A. Naegle, is a professor at NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing, and directs a specialty course sequence in Substance Related Disorders. She is Associate Director of the Dissemination and Implementation Core, CDUHR and Director, the WHO Collaborating Center for Geriatric Nursing. She is currently Co-investigator of Project SARET (Substance Abuse Education and Training), a NIDA funded inter-professional program to nursing, medical, dentistry and social work researchers. Dr. Naegle is the founding editor of the Journal of Addictions Nursing and has published more than 50 articles on impaired nursing practice, addictions education and substance use in older adults. She serves on the Addictions Council for the American Psychiatric Nursing Association and is Chair Emerita the Psychiatric-mental Health/ Substance Abuse Expert Panel of the American Academy of Nursing. She is past-president of the New York State Nurses Association and received the NYSNA Honorary Recognition award in 2007. Dr. Naegle practices privately as a psychotherapist.
