Join us for the GNSA Overview Webinar where you will learn about how you can use the GNSA services to help advance your professional development and achieve success in your graduate nursing programs. During the Webinar, the speakers will explore the communication and networking platform, career services, Webinar series, funding announcements, and advocacy resources. Members of the Leadership Council will share their personal experience and help answer questions.

Webinar Speakers

Marta Wall, MPA, AACN’s Associate Director of Student Initiatives

Marta Wall is the Associate Director of Student Initiatives at the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN). Mrs. Wall helped with the development and launch of the GNSA, a national network providing high value programs, services, and resources to nursing students enrolled in master’s and doctoral programs. Prior to joining AACN, Mrs. Wall worked as the Program Coordinator at New York University College of Nursing (NYUCN) within the Academic and Clinical Affairs department. Mrs. Wall received her master’s in public administration from New York University’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service and her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Scranton.




Matthew Harris, MSSC, AACN’s Student Services Assistant

Matthew Harris currently supports the outreach, marketing, and social media efforts of the Graduate Nursing Student Academy (GNSA) at the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN). He also works on the applicant facing information about NursingCAS through NursingCAS.org and their social media outlets. Previously, Mr. Harris was the Project Assistant for the Doctoral Advancement in Nursing Project, a program from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation aimed at supporting the New Careers in Nursing Scholarship recipients apply for doctoral programs in nursing. Mr. Harris received his master’s in social science in the International and European Relations program from Linköping University, Sweden and his bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Illinois at Springfield.




Evangeline M. Dowling, MSN, RN, Ed., GNSA Leadership Council Member, Chair

Ms. Dowling is a third year PhD student at Arizona State University College of Nursing & Healthcare Innovation. She is an active member of several local and national organizations which include the Tucson Chapter of the American Nurses Association, the Arizona Gerontological Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau International, the Honor Society of Nursing, and the Arizona Action Coalition Education-Practice Collaborative Task Force. She is also the chair of the inaugural Graduate Nursing Student Academy (GNSA). Evangeline currently teaches at the University of Arizona College of Nursing where her research interests include cardiovascular health promotion through physical activity in older Mexican-American men.
