As Congress returns from their August district work period, and with less than six-months before the end of the 116th Congress, it is important that your federal elected officials hear from you on issues that directly impact academic nursing. This is especially true as policymakers continue consideration of important legislation, including the next COVID-19 legislative package. Please join us, as an AACN Advocate and take action today. Urge Congress to Pass the Future Advancement of Academic Nursing (FAAN) Act (S.4396/H.R.7945) The FAAN Act (S.4396/H.R.7945) would invest $1 billion into schools of nursing to ensure nursing education pathways remain strong during current and future public health challenges. The FAAN Act would provide resources to: •	Enroll and retain nursing students, our future nursing leaders.  •	Hire and retain a diverse faculty to educate the future nursing workforce. •	Modernize technological and educational infrastructure. •	Support nurse scientists and researchers who are essential as future health challenges arise. •	Support schools of nursing, in partnership with facilities that provide health care, to establish or expand clinical education. •	Support educational programs, including creating and modernizing curriculum and establishing nurse-led in¬tra¬dis¬ci¬plin¬ary and interprofessional educational partnerships.  Urge your Senators to Cosponsor and Pass the Strengthening America’s Health Care Readiness Act (S. 4055) Which Would •	Invest $1 billion in the Nurse Corps Scholarship and Loan Repayment Programs;  •	Invest $5 billion in the National Health Service Corps (NHSC); and •	Create a NHSC Emergency Service demonstration project. SUPPORT WORLD WAR II CADET NURSES Urge Congress to cosponsor and pass the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps Service Recognition Act (H.R. 2056/S. 997) CONTINUE YOUR ADVOCACY. TAKE ACTION TODAY!
