Jane and Robert Cizik School of Nursing at UTHealth invites applications for full- and part-time non-tenure track (tenure-track optional) positions as a faculty member in the specialty areas of Adult & Family Health, Community Health Nursing, Medical-Surgical, Maternal/Pediatrics, Obstetrics, Pediatrics, Psychiatric and Women’s Health Nursing, Nurse Anesthesia, Nursing Informatics and Administration. RESPONSIBILITIES
Instructional responsibilities include both didactic coursework (online and classroom as appropriate) and clinical supervision of students at the undergraduate, master’s and doctoral levels.
Faculty at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor, Tenure Track should show a strong potential for developing a funded program of scientific research. Faculty on the tenure track are expected to teach and actively maintain their research productivity.
Faculty at all ranks on the Clinical Track should have a strong clinical background and teaching experience preferred. Faculty on the Clinical Track are expected to teach and maintain a relevant area of scholarship.
Faculty may also provide direct patient care activities through clinical practice opportunities with affiliated hospitals and other healthcare organizations.
Other scholarly/institutional service responsibilities will be determined in coordination with the Department Chair.

QUALIFICATIONS:
A baccalaureate degree and a master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) or related discipline and eligibility for licensure as a registered nurse in Texas are required for the rank of Instructor.
A doctoral degree in nursing or related field (PhD or DNP) and eligibility for licensure as a registered nurse in Texas are required for the rank of Assistant Professor and above. MSN or related discipline preferred.
Three years of experience as a nurse educator or nurse practitioner in a clinical and/or educational setting is also highly desirable for non-tenure track.
For tenure-track faculty, preference goes to those who have completed a funded post-doctoral fellowship or to those who have a history of federal funding as a principal investigator.
Additional certifications may be required or desired depending upon the specialty area (e.g. CRNA, NP-BC).
