The Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis seeks an experienced program leader and highly motivated doctorally prepared Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join the School of Nursing as the founding Program Director of the hybrid Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)-Nurse Anesthesia degree program. This person will be a member of the School of Nursing faculty and contribute to the multiple missions of the school.

The proposed DNP-Nurse Anesthesia degree program, under development, will help address a CRNA workforce gap in Northern California and throughout the state. The founding Program Director/Program Administrator will be integral to establishing innovative partnerships with outside stakeholders as well as UC Davis Medical Center. The program director will also seek to establish pipelines for health care professionals from, and interested in, working in rural and underserved communities.

This position will serve as a full-time, non-tenured faculty at the assistant, associate or full rank in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor (HSCP) or Clinical X Series at UC Davis Health, which is located on a modern, 140-acre campus in Sacramento, California.

ADMINISTRATIVE AND PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Founding Program Director of the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)-Nurse Anesthesia degree program will play a significant role in the strategic planning of the curriculum, mission and outcomes of the program, and in ensuring the program is aligned with the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing, UC Davis Health System, and the University of California at Davis. As the program administrator, the Program Director is a CRNA who by title and function directs the organizational administration of the nurse anesthesia program; providing leadership and oversight of all aspects of the educational program including but not limited to governance, didactic and clinical curriculum, recruitment, accreditation and evaluation.

The Founding Program Director/Program Administrator reports to the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing Associate Dean for Academics.

SALARY RANGE:
The starting budgeted salary range for this position is $175,000 to $225,000. This position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan.

CRITERIA:
A candidate for appointment in the HSCP or Clinical X Series is evaluated by the following criteria, which is appropriately weighted according to the primary emphasis on clinical and clinically relevant teaching and patient care services and also according to the needs of the school and the individual’s responsibilities in the specific discipline. The four criteria are:

1. Teaching
2. Professional competence and activity
3. Scholarly or creative activity
4. University and public service
