Candidates must have professional licensure and certification, relevant professional leadership experience, and experience with professional education, education technology, program development, and project management. Candidates must have a record of scholarly work, a commitment to interdisciplinary approaches, and teaching experience. Rank and salary are commensurate with education and experience. Clinical faculty are eligible for promotion along the clinical track.

The School of Nursing offers nationally accredited baccalaureate, master's, and doctoral programs. One of a small number of nursing schools to be designated as an Apple Distinguished School and endorsed by the International Nursing Association for Clinical and Simulation Learning (INACSL), the University of Rochester School of Nursing prepares nurses for healthcare challenges in the twenty-first century. 

Successful candidates will work with the Associate Dean for Education and Student Affairs, Assistant Deans, and faculty colleagues to design and sustain a curriculum that meet the program and student learning outcomes in compliance with CCNE accreditation standards while implementing best practices in education.  Using a variety of teaching modalities (online, face-to-face, and hybrid) in various settings (didactic, simulation, lab, and clinical), have experience and comfort with education technology, and be willing to engage in innovation actively.  The Program Director will create, implement, and evaluate curricular and co-curricular learning experiences that support student success within the Clinical nurse leader and leadership in healthcare systems programs. The CNL and LDR Program Director will serve as a leadership role model, resource, advisor, and mentor for students and colleagues.  As an active CNL/LDR faculty member, the Program Director will engage in the continuous design, evaluation, and delivery of a synchronous and asynchronous education model that is first in class.

The Program Director provides operational and administrative oversight of the Clinical Nurse Leader and Leadership in Healthcare Systems programs. The Program Director provides leadership in developing program curricula, faculty support, student admissions, advisement, and recruitment. The Program Director serves as faculty in the leadership programs at a rank of Assistant Professor or higher.

Doctoral degree, current NYS RN licensure, CNL certification, demonstrated record of clinical leadership experience, demonstrated record of academic teaching, and superior interpersonal skills with different levels of students.  

DNP prepared, prior clinical leadership experience, prior teaching experience at the baccalaureate or graduate program level, and experience in online learning are strongly preferred, and experience with professional nursing education, education technology, program development, and project management.
