The University of South Alabama invites applications and nominations for the position of Director of Nurse Anesthesia Program. This is an in-person, on site position with regular on-campus presence, teaching and service are required. The responsibilities include providing academic, educational, and administrative leadership for the Nurse Anesthesia program. The director is responsible for the administration and operations of the program that include didactic and clinical teaching, along with administrative tasks and clinical director leadership. The director ensures that the program meets accreditation standards from the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA) and the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). The College of Nursing offers a welcoming work atmosphere, and faculty are allotted one day per week for personal clinical practice to maintain clinical competence. This full-time, 12-month, non-tenure track, Assistant or Associate Professor position is to start on August 1, 2025.
Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree in nursing;
- Current CRNA certification by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA);
- Licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse in Alabama;
- Minimum of 3 years of current practice as a CRNA;
- Experience in the development and maintenance of college academic programs;
- Evidence of formal instruction in curriculum, evaluation, and instruction.
