The Loyola University Chicago Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing invites applications for a clinical track faculty position focused on teaching, curricular development, and integration of simulation pedagogy. This is a 12-month non-tenure track open rank position for appointment at the clinical assistant professor rank or higher based on the applicant’s education, program of scholarship, and teaching experience.
Within the context of Loyola University Chicago and MNSON missions, visions, values, and strategic initiatives, the faculty member will:
- Use high, medium, and low-fidelity simulation modalities to provide high-quality learning experiences to pre-licensure and advanced practice nursing students. Primary responsibilities include developing, organizing, facilitating, and evaluating simulation learning experiences and programs.
- Collaborate with faculty on curriculum and course planning, improvement, and evaluation.
- Develop and disseminate scholarship that advances nursing practice and education.
- Engage in service activities consistent with the mission and strategic vision of the MNSON, university, and nursing profession.
- Contribute to MNSON and university goals for inclusive excellence.
Qualifications
- Experience facilitating high-quality simulation scenarios
- Clinical experience as a registered professional nurse
- Potential to establish and maintain a program of scholarship, consistent with the expectations of rank
- Certification as a Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) from the Society for Simulation in Healthcare is desirable
- Doctoral degree in nursing or a doctoral degree in a related field with a master’s degree in nursing. Will consider a candidate with a master’s degree in nursing who is enrolled in a doctoral degree program.
- Eligibility for licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Illinois

Position salary range: $80,000-124,000
