Description: The Duke University School of Nursing (DUSON) invites applications from doctorally prepared candidates for a full- time, on-campus faculty position with primary teaching responsibilities within the School’s Master of Science in Nursing program. National Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC/PMHNP-C) is required.

Qualifications:  Qualified applicants will be clinically experienced with a minimum of one year of full-time clinical practice as a PMHNP and be eligible for approval to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in North Carolina. One to two years of demonstrated success teaching at the graduate nursing level, particularly focused on teaching about care for populations across the lifespan who have mental health disorders or substance use disorders requiring therapy and medication prescription/management is preferred.  Candidates will be capable of teaching across programs including mental health topics in the pre-licensure program, the PMHNP program, and terminal degree programs. Candidates will also show evidence of a developing program of scholarship that may include professional presentations, publications, grants, clinical practice quality improvement projects, and/or clinical practice guidelines. Faculty appointment for this position will be made at the Assistant or Associate Professor level on either Track I (tenure earning) or Track II (a non-tenure earning practice/clinical track), depending on the candidate’s qualifications.
