The Fall Executive Development Series is offered in conjunction with the 2018 Baccalaureate Education Conference; the same program will precede the Deans Annual Meeting.

Continuing Education Credit
The American Association of Colleges of Nursing is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s (ANCC) Commission on Accreditation.
Continuing nursing education (CNE) hours will be awarded to those who attest to attendance at entire sessions and complete the electronic evaluation process after the conference. The CNE certificate will be provided online only after completion of evaluation.

Neuroleadership is an emerging organizational behavior theory and is a new way of conceptualizing performance. Brain science is linked to the way we lead, perform, and manage, and our ability to be effective. Dean McDaniel has had extensive experience in application of this theoretical model and provides examples on how to meet the needs of your employees, increase rewards and decrease threat.

Dr. Morrison-Beedy is the former Dean of the University of South Florida, College of Nursing and has just completed 18 months as a Fulbright Scholar in the UK/Scotland as well as a Fellowship for Global Nursing Leadership, International Council of Nurses, Switzerland. She has served on many boards and will offer her experiences in board service as central to the movement to place more qualified nurses on healthcare boards.

Tabletop exercises are discussion-based sessions centered on timely topics solicited from the participants prior to EDS. Each table is labeled with a discussion issue, and participants rotate tables depending on topics of mutual interest. This is a great opportunity for aspiring and experienced academic leaders to learn from each other while being guided by an expert facilitator.

Navigating the New Normal: Leadership Transitions in Rapidly Changing Environments*
As the former senior advisor to the President of Johns Hopkins and Chief of Staff to the Provost at the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Chiang has had extensive experience in leadership transitions, the onboarding of new administrators, and strategic and crisis communications. She will be joined by the President of Rotenberg Associates, Amy Rotenberg, a former federal law clerk who has experience in the White House Office of Policy Development and is an expert in strategic communications. Come hear seasoned leaders who are adept at facilitating organizational change while maintaining alignment with strategic priorities both within academic settings and the White House.

CE Credit Hours
The American Association of Colleges of Nursing is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
For sessions awarding contact hours (which are denoted with an * throughout the schedule), participants must attend in entirety, evaluate each electronically after the meeting, and print the continuing education (CE) certificate. Attendees may earn up to 7.5 CE hours for the Fall Executive Development Series. An email with a link to the evaluation will be sent to all attendees upon completion of the meeting. Evaluations may also be accessed via the AACN App.
There are no known conflicts of interest concerning planners and presenters.

Substitution, Cancellation, and Refund Policies
If you subsequently cannot attend this event, the following options are available:
1. No Substitutions are allowed for the Spring Executive Development Series as it is open only to the primary Dean/Chair/Director of AACN-Member Schools of Nursing.
2. Your cancellation request must be received in writing and confirmed by AACN; otherwise, it cannot be honored. The following refund arrangements will then apply:
a. Cancellation requests received by March 9, 2018 will be refunded minus a $150 non-refundable administrative fee.
b. Cancellation requests received after March 9, 2018 will not be granted any refunds.
c. Refunds will not be given for no-shows.
d. No-show registrations with an open balance will be charged a $150 non-refundable administrative fee after the event.
Please note: Cancellations received fewer than 7 days prior to the event start date will be reviewed and processed within two weeks after the last day of the event.
AACN reserves the right to cancel this conference and any group activity that does not meet minimal group requirements. AACN assumes no responsibility for non-refundable airline tickets, hotel reservations, car rental, or other travel costs.
