Course Objectives
- Apply change management theory to guide change and dissemination of knowledge within healthcare systems.
- Apply organizational theories and system thinking to address problems and develop solutions.
- Use quality improvement methodology to evaluate individual and aggregate client care.
- Recognize economic, legal, and political factors that influence healthcare delivery.
- Understand healthcare delivery system organization, finance, and the relationship of these to patient care.
- Identify basic components of the systems development life cycle: analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation.
- Evaluate the impact of information technology on patient, families, and systems.
- Evaluate health information from the internet and other electronic sources.
- Describe the use of information systems to document patient care, advance patient education, and inform patient care.
