Webinar Overview
This Webinar focuses on the use of innovative pedagogies to engage learners. Strategies such as a flipped classroom model, which involve using technology to change the structure of the lecture and laboratory class, will be discussed. This Webinar will provide insight into how a flipped classroom model can be implemented into a curriculum, how outside-of-class material can be created, and student perception of the flipped classroom experience.
NOTE: This Webinar is only open to deans, faculty, staff and students from AACN member schools of nursing.

Dr. Berndt is an Assistant Professor at the College of Saint Benedict/Saint John’s University in Saint Joseph, MN. Her research interests include the use innovative pedagogies to engage learners and clinical teaching effectiveness. She has developed a Flipped Classroom model for her undergraduate courses which has been adopted by the nursing department and has been used for the past seven years. In addition to her undergraduate teaching, she remains engaged in clinical practice in an adult intensive care unit at the Saint Cloud Hospital in Saint Cloud, MN.
