The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) is the premier accrediting agency for baccalaureate and graduate level nursing education programs in the United States and its territories. CCNE currently accredits 1,389 baccalaureate and graduate nursing programs at 705 colleges and universities. This webinar is designed for program officials and faculty whose nursing programs are new and/or for those programs interested in pursuing initial accreditation by CCNE, who want to learn more about the CCNE accreditation process, timelines, and resources.

Jennifer Butlin, EdD
Executive Director
Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education

Dr. Jennifer Butlin has served as Executive Director of the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education—the premier accrediting agency for baccalaureate and graduate nursing programs and nurse residency programs—since 1998. Over the past 24 years, she has been elected or appointed to serve on numerous committees and task forces dealing with accreditation and quality in higher education. Dr. Butlin has represented specialized accreditors in the orientation of the U.S. Department of Education’s National Advisory Committee on Institutional Quality and Integrity, and has chaired the External Recognition Issues Committee of the Association of Specialized and Professional Accreditors. She currently serves on The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine’s ad hoc planning committee for the April 2016 workshop on The Role of Accreditation in Enhancing Quality and Innovation in Health Professions Education. Dr. Butlin has presented at numerous national and international conferences about issues and trends in higher education and best practices in accreditation.

Lori Schroeder, MA
Director of Accreditation Services
Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education

Lori Schroeder is the Director of Accreditation Services for the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Ms. Schroeder serves as staff to the Accreditation Review Committee, Board of Commissioners and recently to the CCNE Standards Committee. Lori has 17 years of experience in the field of specialized accreditation and provides support to all CCNE accredited programs throughout the accreditation process, including as a presenter at workshops to prepare programs for the on-site evaluation and to train volunteer evaluators. Lori has a master’s degree in education and a baccalaureate degree in communications.
