Navigating Resume and CV Writing for Nursing
Webinar Overview
Having an updated resume and/or curriculum vitae (CV) is essential for advancing your education and career. Join Laura Arthur, Director of Career Services at the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing, for a webinar tailored to students and alumni of graduate-level nursing programs. This session will cover when you should use a resume versus a CV and show examples of both documents. Participants are encouraged to have a draft of their current resume and/or CV in front of them to incorporate advice shared during the webinar.

- Understand when a resume or CV is more appropriate and the difference between the two documents
- Identify how to write resumes and CVs tailored to the nursing profession
- View tangible examples of resumes and CVs, and brainstorm content to include in your own

Johns Hopkins Schools of Nursing
Laura Arthur is the Director of Career Services at the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing, where she has developed a comprehensive career services process for Masters and Doctoral level nursing students and alumni. In her prior role in Career Services at the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School, Laura led initiatives including career orientation days, professional development courses, an alumni mentoring program, and career fairs. Throughout her 10-year tenure in Career Services, Laura has interacted with numerous employers in the healthcare and business space and brings a keen understanding of what hiring managers look for in candidates. Laura is a Certified University Career Coach through The Academies, and is a trained administrator of CareerLeader, iStart Strong, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, and StrengthsFinder. She earned a B.S. in Psychology from Xavier University, a M.A. in Higher Education from The Ohio State University, and an Executive Certificate in Business/Corporate Communication from the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School. Laura has served on the Board of Directors of the MBA Career Services and Employer Alliance as well as the Maryland College Personnel Association.

This webinar is free to deans, faculty, staff and students from AACN member schools of nursing. All non-member audiences will be required to pay a $59 webinar fee.
