Jack Morris, BA, MA
International Program Manager
University College Dublin (UCD)

Since 2016 Jack Morris has worked in the area of international student recruitment for University College Dublin. Beginning in New York City, Jack mainly focused on full-degree recruitment. Upon returning to Ireland, he began specializing on the area of Study Abroad, where he has worked since 2017.

Beginning in the summer of 2019 Jack moved to become the International Program Manager in the UCD School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health Systems. His responsibilities include recruitment and administration for both semester program and popular Health Sciences Summer School, which runs every June.

Edna Carroll, BSoc, SC, MBSN
Associate Director

Enda Carroll is the Associate Director, Study Abroad & North America at UCD Global and heads the North America division of the office. She provides broad strategic leadership for North America, in addition to leading a team based in Dublin and the U.S. who are dedicated to the support and recruitment of students from the region. Her position involves working collaboratively with UCD’s Schools and Colleges in the areas of academic program development and the management of relationships with UCD’s key partners in North America. In 2011, she established UCD's first North America Global Centre in New York City. She has over twenty years of experience in international education and is an active contributor to study abroad strategy, initiatives, and committees in Ireland at the national sector level. She is the chair of The Forum on Education Abroad board and the first to be based at a member institution outside the United States. She is currently a Master’s graduate student of the Smurfit School of Business and holds a bachelor’s degree in social science from UCD.

Suzanne Shorten
Director of Summer at UCD

Suzanne Shorten is the Program Director of Summer at UCD and overseas all aspects of inbound Study Tours to Dublin’s premier university. She is one of the first faces students meet as they arrive at UCD, and is the primary escalation contact for any emergencies or special needs that students may experience. She leads a dedicated and committed team who are all former students at UCD and are perfectly placed to introduce our guests to everything the college has to offer – whether academically, culturally, or socially.

Suzanne travels extensively throughout the U.S. during the year, forging close personal relationships with American colleges and getting to know their real needs in terms of creating an overseas experience for their students that will affect them for a lifetime. She is also a regular blogger and commentator on issues relating to Study Tours.

Martin McNamara, EdD, MA, MEd, BA, RN, FAAN

Associate Dean for Gloval Engagement, School of Nursing
University College Dublin

Dr. McNamara is Professor, Associate Dean for Global Engagement, and Program Director for Graduate Program in Leadership, Innovation and Management for Healthcare, and in Health Professions Education at the UCD School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health Systems. He has been a member of faculty since 2000 and served two terms as Dean and Head of School from 2010-2016. He is a Registered Mental Health, General Nurse and Nurse Tutor. He completed his doctorate in 2007 with a sociological investigation into the underlying principles structuring academic nursing in Ireland.

Dr. McNamara’s research interests include the evolution of nursing education in higher education, clinical leadership and the factors enabling and constraining the development of advanced practice nursing roles. He was awarded an honorary Doctor of Science (DSc) degree by the University of Connecticut in May 2014 and was inducted as a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing (FAAN) in October 2015. He was also made a Fellow of the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery, Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in December 2016 and gained an Executive Certificate in Public Leadership from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government in October 2018.
