Overview of Revised CCNE Accreditation Standards for Nurse Residency Programs
In 2015, CCNE revised its accreditation standards for nurse residency programs. This webinar highlights the major revisions, explores CCNE’s rationale for those changes, and provides participants with an understanding of CCNE accreditation requirements.

JoAnn DelMonte is a certified Nursing Professional Development Specialist with more than 25 years of experience in Nursing and Nursing Education. She is currently the Senior Director of Professional Development for University of Colorado Health in Aurora, Colorado, where she directs a department of over 50 nursing professionals. Prior to her position as Department Director, JoAnn served as the hospital’s Nurse Residency Program Coordinator. As Program Coordinator JoAnn and her team achieved the nation’s first Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) national nurse residency program accreditation and now serves as an on-site evaluator in the CCNE nurse residency program accreditation process. JoAnn is a member of the Association for Nursing Professional Development and the American Organization of Nurse Executives and she serves on the review panel for The Journal of Continuing Education in Nursing and as a subject matter expert for the Greater Metro Denver Healthcare Industry Partnership.

Dr. Lauren R. Goodloe is currently the Nursing Director for the departments of Medicine and Geriatric Services and Nursing Research at the Virginia Commomwealth University Medical Center where she provides clinical and administrative leadership. Dr. Goodloe also holds the position of Assistant Dean for Clinical Operations and Associate Professor at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Nursing. As the Assistant Dean for Clinical Operations at the VCU School of Nursing Dr. Goodloe provides coordination of clinical teaching, facilitation of the education and development of students at the VCU Health System, facilitation of joint program development and implementation between the VCU School of Nursing and the VCU Health System and facilitates collaborative practice between education and service. Dr. Goodloe is the current president of the Virginia Nurses Association and is Secretary of the Board of Commissioners of the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
Benjamin Murray, MPA

Benjamin Murray is the Director of Accreditation Services at the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). In this role he manages the Commission’s work as it pertains to the accreditation of nurse residency programs. In addition, Mr. Murray manages the Commission’s program performance monitoring activities for baccalaureate and graduate nursing programs as well as various special projects. He has over 20 years of experience in staff and volunteer training programs and accreditation management. Mr. Murray’s graduate studies focused on the management of nongovernmental organizations.
Deborah Rubinson, DNP, RN

Dr. Rubinson’s passion for pediatric nursing and education provided the driving force behind a diverse career that has included ED, PICU, NICU, transport, clinical informatics, grant writing, outreach education, leadership development, and administration. Deborah is known for her ability to develop and lead high performing interprofessional teams. Her current leadership responsibilities include medical education, clinical education, leadership and organizational development, employee engagement, simulation, academic affiliations, computer training, continuing professional education, the libraries, and media services. Her commitment to patient safety and quality outcomes contributed to the development of a CCNE accredited pediatric nurse residency that is achieving outstanding results. Dr. Rubinson serves as a CCNE on-site evaluator for nurse residency programs and baccalaureate and graduate nursing programs.
