Vice President for Federal Relations and Policy
American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL)
Jo Ann Webb is the Vice President of Federal Relations and policy for the American Organization of Nursing Leadership (AONL), a subsidiary of the American Hospital Association. She is the chief lobbyist and federal policy expert for the over 9,700 registered professional nurses in executive practice who are members of AONL.
Ms. Webb has held senior executive positions in the legislative and executive branches of government including three Senate confirmed presidential appointments as the director of the National Cemetery Administration, the assistant secretary for policy and planning at the Department of Veterans Affairs and the National Veterans Business Development Corporation. She has also served as the subcommittee staff director in the U.S. House of Representatives for the Veterans Affairs Committee and as a legislative director in the U.S. Senate. Ms. Webb has been published in JONA, the Nursing Administration Quarterly, and the Journal of Nursing Scholarship. For the past 10 years she has written a column on federal relations for AONL’s Voice of Nursing Leadership. She was awarded the Exceptional Service Award from the Department of Veterans Affairs and is a fellow of the American Academy of Nursing.
