IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT - AACN's March Events Cancelled

Given the unfolding public health concern posed by the Coronavirus and the critical leadership roles our members play on campus and in their home communities related to care delivery and prevention, AACN has moved to cancel the Deans Annual Meeting, Executive Development Series for Deans, Student Policy Summit, and the Nursing Advancement Professionals Conference planned for March 19-24, 2020 in Washington, DC. This difficult decision was made after much deliberation, a review of the latest evidence, and in the best interest of our members’ health and safety.

Full refunds of the registration fees will be processed for the cancelled events within the next 30 days. We urge you to contact your hotel to cancel your room reservation at least 72 hours in advance of when you were scheduled to arrive. Most major airlines are currently waiving change/cancellation fees for tickets purchased for March travel. For additional questions regarding these conferences, please reach out to conferences@aacnnursing.org.

AACN's Advancing Academic Leadership for New Deans meeting and CCNE's Invitational Workshop on Writing Self Studies will continue with an online offering, and additional information will be shared with those respective registrants shortly.

The AACN Student Policy Summit is a three-day conference held in Washington, DC and is open to baccalaureate and graduate nursing students enrolled at an AACN member institution. Students who attend the Summit are immersed in didactic program sessions focused on the federal policy process and nursing’s role in professional advocacy. Please note: This page will be updated periodically closer to the date of the Summit. Confirmed registered students will also receive additional details about conference logistics, Capitol Hill visits, and expectations, prior to this Summit.

Registration opens October 14th.

Important Registration Information

Given the high demand for registration (300 slots):

  • AACN member deans must be responsible for registering their students.

  • Only students who have not previously attended the Student Policy Summit may be registered.
  • Registrants are discouraged from making hotel or travel arrangements until their registration has been confirmed.
  • Two webinars will be offered to those participating in the event. Webinars will be announced in the coming months and tend to occur in February and March prior to the Summit.

Registration Fees

Final payment for the Summit must be made at the time of registration. If your school is paying for your registration, please be prepared prior to registration.

Payment Information

The cost of registration attendance for the Student Policy Summit is $399.00 per student. Payment is due by credit card at the time of registration, and registrants must adhere to the cancellation policies. AACN will charge a $150 administrative fee for registrations up to two weeks prior to the event.

Last year, we had a number of students who had other people paying for their rooms (teachers, parents, etc). However, they were presenting their personal cards upon check in. In order to avoid this, please have anyone who is having their room paid by someone else fill out the credit card authorization form.

For payment related questions, please contact us at conferences@aacnnursing.org.
