AACN Message on Coronavirus (COVID-19)
All of AACN’s upcoming events are proceeding as scheduled. AACN makes informed decisions about our meetings based on information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and local health authorities. Should any restrictions be put in place that may impact any of our upcoming events, AACN will notify the membership immediately.
As always, ensuring the health, safety, and security of our members is a top priority. AACN will help provide nursing school deans, faculty, students, and other stakeholders with information and resources to make informed decisions. For a good starting place, visit AACN’s new resource center, which highlights key information sources about the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).
Details
The Essentials Task Force will share key elements of the Essentials, which are used to shape the development of undergraduate and graduate nursing programs, including domains, domain descriptors, competencies, and sub-competencies. Attendees will be able to review and provide input on the materials presented, which will shape future iterations of the Essentials as the re-envisioning process moves forward. We encourage deans, faculty, and students from member schools to attend the regional meetings along with their practice partners. In addition, national nursing organization representatives are welcome to attend.
Important Note: This regional meeting will focus on the Essentials related to Entry into Professional Nursing Practice. Two additional regional meetings will be announced in the spring and will focus on Advanced Professional Nursing Practice.

Registrants may pay via credit card (American Express, Visa, MasterCard) or via check.
Substitution, Cancellation, and Refund Policies
If you subsequently cannot attend this event, the following options are available:
1. You may substitute your registration to another individual within your organization. This must be done by contacting the AACN Conference Department via email at conferences@aacnnursing.org.
2. If a substitution is not possible, your cancellation request must be received in writing and confirmed by AACN; otherwise, it cannot be honored. The following refund arrangements will then apply:
- Cancellation requests received by February 24, 2020 will be refunded minus a $75 non-refundable administrative fee.
- Cancellation requests received after February 24, 2020 will not be granted any refunds.
- Refunds will not be given for no-shows.
- No-show registrations with an open balance will be charged a $75 non-refundable administrative fee after the event.
Please note: Cancellations received fewer than 7 days prior to the conference start date will be reviewed and processed within two weeks after the last day of the conference.
AACN reserves the right to cancel this conference and any group activity that does not meet minimal group requirements. AACN assumes no responsibility for non-refundable airline tickets, hotel reservations, car rental, or other travel costs.
