Dr. Nancy DeBasio has worked in higher education for more than 40 years holding both faculty and administrative positions. Dr. DeBasio served two two-year terms as a member at large on the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) Board of Directors. She received the 2012 Advocate of the Year award from the American Association of Colleges of Nursing for her efforts to advance legislation related to nursing education, practice and research. In October 2013 she was awarded honorary membership in the American Association of Colleges of Nursing. In October 2016 the American Association of Colleges of Nursing presented her with the Sr. Bernadette Armiger award given for her contributions to nursing education. Dr. DeBasio was selected as one of the 2017 Icons of Education by Ingram’s, Kansas City’s Business Magazine. Dr. DeBasio is also a member of her alma mater, Wagner College School of Nursing’s, Advisory Committee.

Sheila K. Smith, PhD, RN, ANP-BC, FAANP, holds the BSN and MSN in Adult Health Nursing from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. She holds the PhD in Nursing from the University of Minnesota. Dr. Smith has served in faculty and administrative roles in nursing education for 28 years, currently serving as Dean of the School of Nursing at Pacific Lutheran University, Tacoma, WA. She maintains an active clinical practice as Adult Nurse Practitioner, working in community-based nursing and in primary care. Dr. Smith served for two terms on the CCNE Accreditation Review Committee and is currently a member of the Report Review Committee and the Board of Commissioners. She is also a member of the Multicare Quality and Safety Committee of the Board.

Dr. Judith H. Lewis became Dean of the School of Nursing July, 2009. Dr. Lewis has 30 years of experience in higher education as a faculty member and administrator. She has taught and coordinated courses in pre licensure and BSN Completion programs at the undergraduate level and graduate level specialty and core courses. She has served as coordinator for three accelerated second degree programs, chaired curriculum and admission, progression, and retention committees for both undergraduate and graduate nursing programs; and has developed proposals and implemented graduate level nursing education/CNS options, clinical nurse leader programs and doctor of nursing practice programs. She was a member of the first group of educators to train as on site evaluators for CCNE and chaired at least 10 on site evaluation teams. She serves as a co-chair for the Accreditation Review Committee and Vice Chair for the Board of Commissioners.
