Understanding the Revisions to the 2018 CCNE Standards for Accreditation of Baccalaureate and Graduate Nursing Programs.
The CCNE Standards for Accreditation of Baccalaureate and Graduate Nursing Programs were revised by the CCNE Board of Commissioners in June 2018 and go into effect January 1, 2019. Learn what’s new, what’s changed, and how the revised standards will impact nursing programs at the baccalaureate and graduate levels. Join CCNE for four special webinars, each focusing on a specific standard along with the accompanying key elements, elaborations, and supporting documentation. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions of members of the CCNE Standards Committee and staff.

- Find out what assistance and resources are available to CCNE constituents during the transition to the 2018 Standards for Accreditation of Baccalaureate and Graduate Nursing Programs, and when the revised standards will go into effect.

Dr. Ruppert has 40 years of experience in nursing education. She has served as a national/international practice and education consultant for colleges of nursing in Oman and Hong Kong. In addition to her work at The University of Texas Health Science Center-Houston, Dr. Ruppert is a primary care nurse practitioner. Dr. Ruppert is a member of CCNE’s Standards Committee, co-chairs the CCNE Accreditation Review Committee, and is the current treasurer of CCNE’s Board of Commissioners. She also serves on the Board of Commissioners of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board. She is a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing, American Association of Nurse Practitioners, American College of Critical-Care Medicine, and National Academies of Practice.
Chief Nurse Administrator and Associate Dean,
Clayton State University School of Nursing
Dr. Scott is currently the chief nurse administrator and associate dean for the Clayton State University School of Nursing in Morrow, Georgia (a suburb of Atlanta), a position he just assumed earlier this month. A family nurse practitioner for more than 25 years, Dr. Michael Scott is known mostly for his work in rural health outreach as a primary care clinician with a nurse practitioner practice in upstate South Carolina. He was selected to be an evaluator for the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) in Washington in 2004, and subsequently was elected to its Board of Commissioners as a practice representative. He served two consecutive terms on the CCNE board. His voice played a significant role in helping CCNE to move forward with implementation of the national accreditation standards for the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). He was inducted as a Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners in 2013 due to his contributions to the advanced practice nursing community in the areas of nurse practitioner education and healthcare policy.
Former Legal Counsel,
Sanford Health (MeritCare Health System)
Voglewede practiced law for 33 years, specializing in health care law and defense of medical malpractice cases, before retiring in 2011. After many years in private practice, she became legal counsel for Sanford Health System, the largest rural not-for-profit health system in the country. Jane served on the CCNE Board of Commissioners for two terms representing public consumers, from 2006 to 2012. She was a member of CCNE’s Executive Committee, Co-Chair of the Report Review Committee, and co-chaired the 2013 Standards Committee.
