Webinar Description

According to the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN), 61% of responding prelicensure programs and 45% of responding graduate programs are teaching cannabis content in required courses, with most including less than 1 to 3 hours of content. Join NCSBN and AACN for a three-part series to discuss how to update curricular content on the use of medical marijuana in pre-licensure and graduate nursing programs, based on the Guidelines for Medical Marijuana released in the July 2018 Supplement to the Journal of Nursing Regulation (JNR).

Part I of the series begins the discussion on medical marijuana, current legislation, scientific literature review, and nursing implications.

Objectives:
  • Understand dichotomy between federal and state legislation for the use of marijuana medicinally
  • Locate the state Medical Marijuana Program (MMP) legislation and describe the general provisions of a MMP
  • Identify the physical and psychological conditions that have moderate to high quality evidence for the use of cannabis

This is a three-part series, each will be recorded and available in our on-demand section of our website.

This series is cohosted by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN).
