Webinar Description

According to the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN), 61% of responding prelicensure programs and 45% of responding graduate programs are teaching cannabis content in required courses, with most including less than 1 to 3 hours of content. Join NCSBN and AACN for a three-part series to discuss how to update curricular content on the use of medical marijuana in pre-licensure and graduate nursing programs, based on the Guidelines for Medical Marijuana released in the July 2018 Supplement to the Journal of Nursing Regulation (JNR).

Part II of the series features an overview of the NCSBN National Medical Marijuana Guidelines for Nursing Care of the Patient Using Medical Marijuana.

Objectives:
  • Identify the essential knowledge and practice considerations for the nurse who will be caring for a patient that is using medical marijuana
  • Identify the medical marijuana administration provisions of the MMP
  • Describe the objectives for medical marijuana education in pre-licensure nursing programs

This is a three-part series, each will be recorded and available in our on-demand section of our website.

This series is cohosted by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN).
