How to Navigate Committee Appointments & Nominations
Webinar Details & Objectives
AACN convenes the ad hoc Nominations Consortium, which is made up of 14 national nursing organizations representing wide-ranging expertise in health policies, to identify and nominate experts in the nursing field for membership on federal advisory committees, councils, and task forces. Since AACN formed the consortium in July 2018, it has successfully doubled the number of nominations and seen several of its candidates selected for federal committees. This webinar will give an overview of the nominations process and give insight into how potential candidates can gain the experience typically sought after by federal advisory committees.
Objectives:
- Define the reasons why it is important for nurses to sit on committee or council at the federal, state, and local level
- Discuss the best way to increase your experience to fill these positions
- Explain the process of the nominations process
