Curriculum Evaluation and Integration of Competencies: An Undergraduate Program Experience

This webinar will present one nursing program’s use of competencies to drive undergraduate curriculum development. Using students learning outcomes, a framework of competencies statements was created to drive leveling of content, clinical evaluation expectations, and assessment methods. Faculty champions were identified at each level to ensure integration of the competencies. Faculty champions also lead the discussions to review and revise the competencies annually.

Ann H. White, RN, PhD, NE-BC, earned her PhD in nursing education from Georgia State University in 1998, an MBA from West Virginia Wesleyan College in 1989, a master’s degree in nursing from the University of Cincinnati in 1981, a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Iowa in 1979, and a nursing diploma from Allen Memorial School of Nursing in 1972. She is a registered nurse in both Indiana and Kentucky and holds national board certification as a nurse executive from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

The Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health (ASPPH) works with the National Board of Public Health Examiners (NBPHE) to provide CPH credits.
