Hosted by the Faculty Leadership Network (FLN)

Webinar Description

Professional Identity Formation is considered an educational objective in other health disciplines, yet in nursing, many faculty are still unfamiliar with the term or its meaning. In this webinar, faculty will be able to explain and apply professional identity in nursing through definition(s) and iteratively-derived domains, helping students to incorporate identity formation in beginning their journey into the nursing discipline.

Objectives:

  1. Describe how the concept of professional identity is important in the relationship with other disciplines
  2. Explain the definition of professional identity in nursing and the relevance/evolution of the four domains: values and ethics, knowledge, nurse as a leader, and professional comportment.
  3. Discuss the goods for both patients and professional nurses with language and knowledge about professional identity in nursing.
