Malika Fair, MD, MPH is an Assistant Clinical Professor and practicing physician in the Department of Emergency Medicine of The George Washington University. Dr. Fair is the Senior Director for Health Equity Partnerships and Programs at the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC). In this role, Dr. Fair directs two federal initiatives, the Urban Universities for HEALTH (Health Equity through Alignment, Leadership, and Transformation of the Health Workforce) project and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Cooperative Agreement with the AAMC. Within Urban Universities for HEALTH, she leads efforts to develop metrics, tools, and resources within a learning collaborative to produce a diverse and culturally prepared workforce. As a part of the CDC Cooperative Agreement, she has developed a fellowship program with the CDC, online public health repositories for medical educators and learners, and provides ongoing faculty development opportunities related to population health. Dr. Fair co-leads the AAMC Accelerating Health Equity, Advancing through Discovery (AHEAD) initiative which seeks to identify, evaluate, and disseminate effective and replicable AAMC-member institution practices that improve community health and reduce health inequities.
