Webinar Description
LINK, which stands for Linking to Improve Nursing Care and Knowledge, is Columbia Nursing’s response to AACN’s call for more deep-rooted relationships between clinical practice, research and academic nursing schools. This webinar will be the fourth in a series designed to highlight outstanding examples of interprofessional engagement happening across the nation in response to recommendations contained in the groundbreaking report on Advancing Healthcare Transformation: A New Era for Academic Nursing.

Eileen Carter, PhD
Assistant Professor of Nursing, Columbia University School of Nursing
Nurse Researcher, NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital
Dr. Eileen J. Carter holds a joint position as Nurse Researcher at New York-Presbyterian Hospital and Assistant Professor of Nursing at Columbia University Medical Center. In this role, she advances formal collaborations between service and academia and mentors professional nurses in activities of clinical scholarship. She is an emergency department nurse by background and her clinical experiences inform her research, which examines and explores the nurses' role in optimizing patient care. Her research has been featured in leading peer-reviewed medical and nursing journals.
Reynaldo R. Rivera, DNP

Dr. Reynaldo R. Rivera is Director of Research and Innovation at New York-Presbyterian Hospital and has a wide range of range of publications on research and practice innovations. He is past president of the Philippine Nurses Association of America and established the PNAA Leadership Institute as well as the PNAA Nurse Leadership Fellowship Program. He is past board member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives. He is currently advisory board member of Duke/Johnson & Johnson Nurse Leadership Program, and board member of American Association for Men in Nursing Foundation. He has received numerous awards, such as the Columbia University Outstanding Alumni Award, UERMMMC Outstanding Alumni Award, AACN Flame of Excellence Award, and AAMN Lee Cohen Award. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Nursing.
