Understanding the Revisions to the 2018 CCNE Standards for Accreditation of Baccalaureate and Graduate Nursing Programs.
The CCNE Standards for Accreditation of Baccalaureate and Graduate Nursing Programs were revised by the CCNE Board of Commissioners in June 2018 and go into effect January 1, 2019. Learn what’s new, what’s changed, and how the revised standards will impact nursing programs at the baccalaureate and graduate levels. Join CCNE for four special webinars, each focusing on a specific standard along with the accompanying key elements, elaborations, and supporting documentation. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions of members of the CCNE Standards Committee and staff.

Objectives

- Learn about CCNE’s expectations and ways to present evidence to demonstrate compliance with Standard III (Program Quality: Curriculum and Teaching-Learning Practices) of CCNE’s 2018 Standards for Accreditation of Baccalaureate and Graduate Nursing Programs.
- Find out what assistance and resources are available to CCNE constituents during the transition to the 2018 Standards for Accreditation of Baccalaureate and Graduate Nursing Programs, and when the revised standards will go into effect.

Speakers
Professor Emeritus
School of Nursing, Curry College
Dr. Caldwell holds a BS from Northeastern University, an MS from Boston College, a Doctorate in Nursing Science from Boston University, and a Certificate in Advanced Graduate Study in Primary Care from Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions. She is Board Certified as an Adult Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Dr. Caldwell is Professor Emeritus, School of Nursing Curry College in Milton, Massachusetts. She has served as chair and vice chair of the CCNE Board of Commissioners, as a member of the CCNE Accreditation Review Committee, and as a member of CCNE’s Standards Review Committee. She currently serves on the Substantive Change Review Committee and as an on-site evaluation team leader.
Professor of Nursing and Dean Consultant to the Provost
University of Detroit Mercy
Dr. Pacini is a Professor of Nursing and Dean Consultant to the Provost at University of Detroit Mercy. She recently stepped down from the role of Dean of the College of Health Professions and McAuley School of Nursing where she served for eight years. Prior to that she was the Director of Professional Development, Research and Innovation at the University of Pennsylvania Health System in Philadelphia and has worked in a similar capacity at the University of Michigan Health System, at Indiana University Health System and at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. She received her PhD in Nursing and Neuroscience from the University of Michigan; her MSN from Wayne State University in Detroit; and her BSN from Mercy College of Detroit. Dr. Pacini has consulted and presented in the area of educational redesign, clinical advancement, and shared governance. Her recent publications address the utilization and application of conceptual models, most notable the Synergy Model, as frameworks for professional development, leadership development, educational redesign and clinical transformation. Dr. Pacini served on CCNE’s Standards Review Committee and currently serves on CCNE’s Board of Commissioners and Accreditation Review Committee.
