CSV Files for Learning Management System (LMS) Upload as Objectives
Overview
The CSV (comma-separated values) files contain all AACN Essentials (2021) Competencies and Sub-Competencies formatted for upload to the Canvas LMS (learning management system) as learning outcomes. These learning outcomes may then be associated with specific student activities and assessments within the LMS. Some reformatting may be needed if you are using an LMS that is not Canvas. They can be reformatted to match the requirements of other LMSs such as D2L, Brightspace, and Moodle.
How to Use
Format and upload into your LMS within that system’s Outcomes function. (Currently formatted for Canvas.)
Integrative Learning Strategies
Students will see the measures in rubrics. This will aid faculty in aligning assignments and assessments. This will also aid in curriculum mapping and review of student performance.
Assessment Strategies
Variable based on the user.
Exemplar
The image below shows how the Sub-Competency may be embedded in a grading rubric. Modifications to the end-product can be made by the user in compliance with the LMS in use.
All sub-competencies for entry-level and advanced-level professional nursing education are applicable for this resource.
