Faculty Policy Think Tank: Content Leveling
Webinar Description
AACN’s Faculty Policy Think Tank (FPTT) provides critical insight into the state of policy education in undergraduate and graduate nursing programs. The FPTT was comprised of health policy experts from member schools around the nation who were charged with making recommendations on improving health policy education in nursing.
The FPTT recently developed recommendations for policy education in all levels of nursing education. Within the overarching perspective that policy topics include advocacy, analysis, and research, there are levels of knowledge and skills that should be acquired by students. In this webinar, we will discuss the expectation for competencies essential for BSN, master’s and doctoral students to demonstrate. Examples of leveled content and suggestions for evaluating student performance will be presented.
View Faculty Policy Think Tank Members and Final Report and Recommendation.
Objectives:
- Compare and contrast suggested policy competencies based on the educational level-BSN, master’s or doctoral.
- Identify strategies for developing course curricula that account for variation in students’ baseline knowledge and skills.
- Appraise useful approaches for teaching and learning health policy and advocacy.
This offering is the fourth in the series, for the rest of the series visit AACN’s On-Demand Webinar page.
