GNSA Advocacy Leaders

Join the GNSA Advocacy Leaders to Engage in Advocacy at the National Level

The GNSA is launching the Advocacy Leaders group to maximize AACN's advocacy efforts on behalf of graduate nursing students. The group will consist of 2 representatives from each state including the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. The 104 members of the Advocacy Leaders will participate in quarterly conference calls where they will develop their advocacy skills and become informed on the latest health policy discussions. Formerly known as the GNSA Policy Committee, this group is being expanded to help create a greater impact in amplifying AACN's policy and advocacy messaging. In addition, members of the group will also provide feedback to AACN staff on policy issues that are of importance to graduate nursing students.

In order to be eligible for the group, students must be a current graduate student at an AACN member school as well as member of the GNSA. The first quarterly conference calls will take place on Wednesday, March 14 at 1:00 pm (ET) for schools in the east region and 2:00 pm ET for schools in the west region.  If you are interested in serving as a GNSA Advocacy Leader for your state, please complete the following application. All applications are due by 5:00 pm (ET) on Wednesday, February 28, 2018. Applicants who are selected will be asked to notify their dean of this service.
