2018 GNSA Conference Registration Now Open
The inaugural Graduate Nursing Student Academy (GNSA) Conference Seizing the Opportunity to Lead and Shape the Future of Health Care is open to graduate nursing students in master's and doctoral programs, who are members of the GNSA . The first of its kind, the national GNSA conference features sessions on publishing, mentoring, nursing innovation, transition to careers in education, practice, and leadership, as well as health policy and advocacy. Come experience a variety of  enriching professional development activities and dynamic networking opportunities. As the future of the nursing profession, this conference helps students establish connections that can further their educational advancement and learn from national nursing experts.

    AACN is pleased to announce that six nursing students have been selected to serve two-year terms on the national Leadership Council of the Graduate Nursing Student Academy (GNSA). 

  • Call for Applications for the GNSA Leadership Council

    Students— June 22, 2017

    The Graduate Nursing Student Academy (GNSA) is pleased to announce a call for applications for the 2017-2019 Leadership Council. Currently, there are six open positions for the 10-member Leadership Council which provides strategic direction on GNSA programs, services, and resources. In this role, GNSA members have a direct opportunity to serve in a leadership capacity and represent their fellow master’s and doctoral nursing students across the country. 

  • New Grant Funding Opportunity for Graduate Students

    Students— February 1, 2017

    The NIDA Blending Initiative: Moving Science from Research to Practice will award up to $10,000 for a project grant from a graduate student (Master’s, Doctoral, or Post-Doctoral) from an accredited program at an AACN member school. This grant is intended to support projects that contribute to a student’s knowledge of Substance Use Disorder (SUD) and advance research, dissemination, and adoption of evidence- based SUD treatment. The award will be disbursed in three equal payments after receipt and acceptance of the required progress reports. Proposals are due February 24, 2017. Awards will be announced on March, 10, 2017.

  • 2017 Minority Nurse Faculty Scholarship Application is Now Open!

    Students— January 18, 2017

    The 2017 application for the Johnson & Johnson Minority Nurse Faculty Scholarship is open to full-time students in doctoral and master’s programs who will serve as nurse faculty after completing their degree programs. Scholarship recipients are selected by an application review committee and are awarded $18,000 which is disbursed in the fall. Winners are required to attend AACN’s Faculty Development Conference, which is held in November 2017 and meet regularly with a mentor.
