The following resources are available for nursing leaders looking to develop and sustain effective academic-practice partnerships.
Since 2010, the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) and the American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL) have worked together to align academic preparation with workforce needs and address shared challenges impacting nurses across settings. This ongoing collaboration has identified shared values and interests and develop strategies to meet the challenges facing the nursing profession.
To support this work, the organizations convened a joint AACN/AONL Academic–Practice Advisory Committee, bringing together academic and practice leaders to identify emerging challenges and recommend strategies to strengthen academic–practice partnerships.
