Affiliations & Recognition

CCNE serves higher education institutions and healthcare organizations throughout the United States. A specialized/professional accrediting agency, CCNE is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education for the accreditation of nursing education programs in the United States, at the baccalaureate, master’s, doctoral, and certificate levels, including programs offering distance education. The U.S. Department of Education plays a role in ensuring the quality of accreditors through its National Advisory Committee on Institutional Quality and Integrity. CCNE is a founding member of the Health Professions Accreditors Collaborative (HPAC), which was established in 2014 as a platform for discussion, proactive problem solving, and sharing among health professions accreditors. 

CCNE is also a member of the CHEA International Quality Group (CIQG), which is a forum for colleges, universities, accrediting and quality assurance organizations and others worldwide to address issues and challenges focused on quality and quality assurance in an international setting.
