Faculty Scholars Grant

Funding Opportunity to Support Nurse Faculty Scholarship

The Foundation for Academic Nursing, the new philanthropic arm of AACN, is pleased to announce the creation of the AACN Faculty Scholars Grant Program.

A total of $100,000 funding will be distributed to support four $25,000 faculty scholarship projects through 2022. Two awards will be offered in the 2020-2021 academic year, and two will be offered in the 2021-2022 academic year. The focus of these scholarly activities should reflect current issues in nursing education or practice and support of AACN’s strategic priorities.

COVID-19 Student Support Fund - Donate HereCOVID-19 Nursing Student Support Fund

The COVID-19 Nursing Student Support Fund provides one-time grants to nursing students enrolled in AACN member schools who need financial support to complete their nursing programs and/or meet life expenses. 

With more than 2,800 applications received, nursing students from all 50 states and the District of Columbia were chosen for support following a competitive application process.  The Foundation for Academic Nursing is seeking additional support from other corporate and individual donors for this fund to expand our ability to help more nursing students in need.

This event, themed Exploring Disruption and Innovation in Nursing Education, will feature a variety of provocative sessions on topics of great interest to today’s nurse educator, including competency-based education, professional identity formation, navigating disruptive innovation, leveraging data and technology, teaching population health, and preparing the nursing workforce of the future.

National Call to Action for Nurse Faculty Recognition

AACN has joined The DAISY Foundation™ to issue a National Call for Nurse Faculty Recognition to honor academic leaders responsible for preparing the nation's nursing workforce. AACN encourages those wishing to formally recognize nurse educators to consider using The DAISY Award® for Extraordinary Nursing Faculty. This award was created to honor nursing faculty who inspire their students to provide high quality, compassionate care. To date, more than 560 nurse educators have been recognized with this distinguished honor. Learn more.
