  • AACN Foundation Announces New Funding for Faculty Scholars Program

    Faculty— May 7, 2021

    The Foundation for Academic Nursing announced new funding for the AACN Faculty Scholars Grant Program. The program is aimed at highlighting the innovative work being led by nurse educators to redesign teaching and learning at AACN member schools.  A total of $50,000 in funding will be distributed to support two $25,000 faculty scholarship projects through 2022.

  • AACN Announces Inaugural Digital Academy through Collaboration with Apple Education

    Faculty— April 8, 2021

    AACN is pleased to announce the inaugural Digital Academy: Building the Essentials Tool Kit with Digital Innovation, which will be held as a pre-conference to AACN's Transform 2021 on November 29-December 1 in Dallas, TX. This event will bring together 30 innovative nursing faculty to develop digital projects around the 10 domains outlined in the new AACN Essentials. The Academy will provide nurse educators with training and tools to sharpen their skills as digital content creators and a unique experience to network with colleagues from schools nationwide.

COVID-19 Nursing Student Support Fund

The COVID-19 Nursing Student Support Fund provides one-time grants to nursing students enrolled in AACN member schools who need financial support to complete their nursing programs and/or meet life expenses. 

With more than 2,800 applications received, nursing students from all 50 states and the District of Columbia were chosen for support following a competitive application process.  The Foundation for Academic Nursing is seeking additional support from other corporate and individual donors for this fund to expand our ability to help more nursing students in need.

National Call to Action for Nurse Faculty Recognition

AACN has joined The DAISY Foundation™ to issue a National Call for Nurse Faculty Recognition to honor academic leaders responsible for preparing the nation's nursing workforce. AACN encourages those wishing to formally recognize nurse educators to consider using The DAISY Award® for Extraordinary Nursing Faculty. This award was created to honor nursing faculty who inspire their students to provide high quality, compassionate care. To date, more than 560 nurse educators have been recognized with this distinguished honor. Learn more.
