Virtual Conference for Nursing Faculty and Students: Healing the Heart of Healthcare

CCNE to Host Accreditation Webinar for Nurse Practitioner Fellowship/Residency Programs
The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) is offering a webinar on April 19 from 2:15-4:15pm (ET) addressing CCNE’s new accreditation process for nurse practitioner fellowship/ residency programs. The webinar will provide an overview of the accreditation process and review the CCNE Standards for Accreditation of Nurse Practitioner Fellowship/Residency Programs (2020). AACN Seeks Essentials Implementation Director
Graphic - AACN - The Essential Update
AACN is currently accepting applications for the position of Implementation Director AACN Essentials. This key member of the AACN team will provide academic, strategic, technical, operational, and managerial leadership focused on the transition to the 2021 Essentials. The director will:
  • Provide oversight of Essentials implementation
  • Serve as AACN staff liaison to the Essentials Implementation Steering Committee and working groups
  • Provide strategic decision making when engaging with internal and external stakeholders to achieve implementation goals.
A doctoral degree in nursing or related field is required with at least 10 years of experience in a leadership position. For more details about responsibilities, desired qualifications, and how to apply, click here.

AACN Launches New Grant-Funded Initiatives
AACN Member Schools Lead Efforts to Address Vaccine Hesitancy 
AACN has been awarded funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to launch a new initiative developed to help nursing school faculty and students have effective conversations about COVID-19 vaccinations in order to boost consumer confidence. Ten participating AACN member schools are undertaking a variety of education and communication activities to reach individuals and populations at risk. These activities include engaging with faculty and staff on how best to share credible COVID-19 vaccine information and respond to misinformation (including on social media); developing learning resources and nursing curricula to improve vaccine confidence; and connecting with health departments and community organizations to reach target populations. AACN Leads Effort to Prepare New Nurses with Stronger Skills in Leadership and Resilience
AACN is pleased to announce an initiative focused on building leadership capacity in new nurses with a special emphasis on developing essential skills in resilience, self-care, and well-being. This two-year project, titled A Competency-Based Approach to Leadership Development and Resilience for Student Nurses, was launched with funding from the Johnson & Johnson Foundation in partnership with the Johnson & Johnson Center for Health Worker Innovation. New Scholarship Programs to Support Future Nurses and Nurse Faculty
AACN is proud to partner with Scrubin Uniforms to launch a new scholarship for nursing students in baccalaureate, master’s, and doctoral programs. Administered by AACN’s Foundation for Academic Nursing, this new program will provide $2,500 scholarships to nursing students from AACN member schools with a formal affiliation agreement with Scrubin Uniforms. This new scholarship program will open on National Nurses Day on May 6, 2022. Learn more here
AACN and NurseThink® are pleased to announce the launch of a new scholarship program focused on preparing future nurse faculty. Open to students enrolled in master’s and doctoral programs at AACN member institutions, this program will provide $5,000 scholarship awards to students twice a year through 2026. NurseThink® has committed $50,000 to support this program, which also is administered by the Foundation for Academic Nursing. Apply by April 25, 2022.
