The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) has issued the following updates:

CCNE Board of Commissioners Elects 2021 Officers

CCNE Adopts Accreditation Standards for Nurse Practitioner Fellowship and Residency Programs

CCNE Updates Related to COVID-19 Pandemic

At its September 22-25, 2020 meeting, the CCNE Board of Commissioners determined that all Spring 2021 evaluations (i.e., January-April), as is the case for all Fall 2020 evaluations, will be conducted virtually. The decision was made to maximize the health and safety of CCNE’s community of interest as accreditation operations continue during the COVID-19 pandemic. Nursing programs hosting virtual evaluations have been notified, and updated Frequently Asked Questions are available on the CCNE website.

Additionally, CCNE has updated its COVID-19 Guidance and extended the “waiver” time period from December 31, 2020 to June 30, 2021, for programs to submit certain types of substantive change notifications to CCNE.
