AACN-TV to Launch at AACN's Annual Meeting

AACN-TV to Launch at the Annual Meeting of the
American Association of Colleges of Nursing

WASHINGTON, D.C. MARCH 18, 2016- The American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) is pleased to announce the launch of AACN-TV, an online portal for showcasing innovations in academic nursing. Accessible beginning March 19 at www.aacntv.org, this platform was created through a partnership between AACN and New Media News TV to highlight schools of nursing, promote pathways into the profession, and explore future directions in nursing education.

AACN-TV was launched to give nursing schools an opportunity to showcase the exciting work underway at their institutions to educate the next generation of professional nurses," said AACN President and CEO Deborah Trautman. "Through this new partnership, schools will gain access to high-quality video services at a discounted rate, which will facilitate their ability to show the "human side" of their programs to a national audience, including prospective students, alumni, legislators, foundations, and other stakeholders."

Videos produced through this partnership may be used to help recruit new students and faculty, highlight nurse-led research efforts, profile faculty members and/or students, spotlight community-based health services, showcase curricular innovations, illustrate pathways into nursing, and in many other ways. Schools producing video segments will own the content and may use the promotional material for their own marketing and communications purposes. AACN is committed to sharing the resulting videos with a national audience via media outreach, at upcoming conferences, through the association's nursing school directory, and on AACN's meetings app.

The following schools are among the first to have videos produced for AACN-TV, which will either debut at AACN's Spring Annual Meeting in Washington, DC on March 19-22 or be filmed shortly after the meeting:
