Program Changes Announced Regarding 2023 Macy Faculty Scholars Program
 
The Macy Faculty Scholars Program, provided by the Josiah Macy Jr. Foundation, is designed to nurture the careers of promising educators in medicine and nursing. The foundation recently announced two changes to the program. Interested participants can learn more about the changes here. Full details related to the 2023 cycle are now available via this program brochure. The application cycle opens on April 1, 2022 and will close on August 1, 2022. Visit the website to learn more. 

Register Now for the 2022 Virtual IPEC Institute
 
The February 2022 IPEC Institute is an advanced program for those trying to sustain or strengthen their interprofessional education for collaborative practice programs while increasing faculty readiness and student preparation around inclusion, diversity, health equity and advocacy. The interactive Institute program is designed for interprofessional teamsbut also welcomes select individual participants. This year's institute, themed IPECP IDEAS: Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Advocacy Stories, is not one to miss!  Register, or learn more about the institute to be held February 1, 3, 8, and 10 here

AACN Announces Third Elevating Leaders in Academic Nursing (ELAN) Cohort

AACN is pleased to announce that 45 nursing faculty from across the nation completed the virtual weeklong intensive for the Elevating Leaders in Academic Nursing (ELAN) program, held October 18-21, the first of three learning components. ELAN is part of AACN’s leadership development portfolio, AACN LEADS, and is specifically designed for aspiring deans and senior faculty in leadership roles. 
 
Faculty from ELAN’s third cohort come from 23 states and represent an array of institution types, including small liberal arts programs, public and private schools, and large academic health centers. View ELAN participants here and learn more about the backgrounds of these incredible faculty leaders. 
 
Application Cycle for ELAN's Fourth Cohort Now Open
Faculty interested in participating in ELAN are invited to apply to participate. The program, referred to as "a life changing experience" by a past attendee, provides faculty with a focused assessment experience, a range of content and exercises related to successful executive leadership, and the opportunity to establish a peer network that fosters long-term partnerships and collegial support. The application deadline is March 15, 2022.

This award recognizes pioneering nurse faculty with more than five years of teaching experience at AACN member schools. Faculty who teach in didactic and/or clinical settings were considered for this award.

The Essentials Implementation Tool Kit is a continuously evolving resource designed to assist faculty and others engaged in implementing the new Essentials. Faculty have created some curriculum mapping tools to help schools align their programs with the new AACN Essentials. The following tools are available:
