This award is presented to a team of health-professional school-based collaborators who have innovatively addressed a public health issue while making a lasting impact on the community’s health. In addition to including team members representing multiple professions, the proposed project should aim to establish a relationship between interprofessional practice and outcomes (community practice, public health education, and/or research). AACN Recognizes the Latest Fellows of the Elevating Leaders in Academic Nursing (ELAN) Program AACN is pleased to announce that a new cohort of nursing faculty leaders from across the nation have completed AACN’s Elevating Leaders in Academic Nursing (ELAN) program, ELAN is part of the association's leadership development portfolio, AACN LEADS, and is specifically designed for aspiring deans and senior faculty in leadership roles. View Fellows Now in its fourth program cycle, ELAN has created a new pathway for over 170 nursing faculty leaders to enhance their leadership skills. Participating faculty received an assessment of their current leadership style and learned valuable skills to accomplish identified goals. Representing a variety of backgrounds, experiences, and skills, AACN's ELAN fellows have developed the necessary tools to be leaders in academic nursing. Exciting News! The application cycle for ELAN's fifth cohort is open. Faculty interested in participating in ELAN are invited to apply. The program, referred to as "a life changing experience" by a past attendee, provides a focused assessment experience, a range of content and exercises related to successful executive leadership, and the opportunity to establish a peer network that fosters long-term partnerships and collegial support. Hundreds of faculty teaching in master's and baccalaureate programs came together to discuss new research, innovations, and trends in academic nursing. First Place, Research Evaluating Collective Competence to Promote Safe, Effective Care Vanderbilt University Authors: Lacey Cross, Angela Weaver, and Mary Ann Jessee This study explored facilitators and barriers to collective competence and the relationship among individual student confidence, perceived clinical judgment competence, and collective competence of student teams in senior baccalaureate-level nursing students during a team-based simulation. Honorable Mention, Research Turnover in the Critical Care Work Environment: Targeting Competencies for Self-Care Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and Texas Woman's University Authors: Cory Church and Kristine Morris This study was aimed at determining the reasons for turnover in the critical care work environment to assess the need for self-care competencies in nursing education. First Place, QI/EBP LINC Common IPE Experience: Igniting BSN Student Engagement with Other Professions University of Texas Health San Antonio Authors: Cynthia Wall, Andrea Berndt, Meredith Quinene, Sadie Trammel Velasquez, and Joseph Zorek This presentation describes the common interprofessional education experience and links the post-module and cumulative outcomes to the main competencies for Essential Domain 6: Interprofessional Partnerships. Honorable Mention, QI/EBP Strengthening Pediatric Telehealth Simulation Pedagogies in Family Nurse Practitioner Curricula New York University Authors: Ellen Hollander, Chin Tam, Saribel Garcia Quinones, Charles Tilley, and Jennifer Nahum This curricular quality improvement project aimed to increase students’ self-efficacy during pediatric telehealth simulation and prepare them for pediatric clinical placements by introducing pediatric telehealth didactic prior to the simulation experience and concurrently with clinical rotations. View all Posters Presented at Transform 2022 Ten Schools of Nursing to Receive Funding from AACN to Accelerate Innovation and Competency-Based Nursing Education AACN is pleased to announce that 10 schools of nursing have been selected to participate in a national initiative designed to transform nursing education and practice.
