AACN Joins ACE’s Comment Letter on Accreditation

On September 16, AACN signed on to a comment letter led by the American Council on Education (ACE) on the Department of Education’s (ED) accreditation proposed rule. This letter raises concerns that many of these requirements go well beyond ED’s authority under the Higher Education Act and urges the ED to focus instead on areas that will enhance the accreditation process. Breaking News! Reintroduction of the Educating Future Nurses Act

The Educating Future Nurses Act (H.R.10410) was reintroduced by House Nursing Caucus Vice Co-Chair and nurse, Congresswoman Lauren Underwood (D-IL-14). This bill would establish a permanent national graduate nurse education program to support partnerships between nursing schools, hospitals, and health systems.

AACN Joins the Rally for Medical Research

On September 17, AACN joined nearly 400 research-focused organizations to advocate for increased investments in the National Institutes of Health, including NINR, during the Rally for Medical Research. During the event, AACN met with congressional staff to discuss the essential role of nurse researchers and scientists as they make groundbreaking and lifesaving healthcare discoveries that inform nursing practice and education.
