AACN and NursingCAS Host Successful Discover Nursing Fair

On September 19, AACN and NursingCAS hosted the first Discover Nursing Virtual Fair. This online event gave prospective students the opportunity to meet with nursing school representatives to learn more about nursing education. A total of 1,766 individuals registered for the Virtual Fair, representing all 50 U.S. states and 29 other countries. Among the prospective students who participated in the event, 43% were interested in pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing as a second degree.

AACN's Virtual Fair removed the barrier of location, which allowed students to join from anywhere at the time that worked best for them. Through this event, students had an opportunity to chat directly with school representatives and ask questions that would aid their decision-making process. Following the virtual fair, participants were asked to answer a survey about their experience with the event. One individual stated, "I found two more schools that I was interested in applying to through the nursing fair. I enjoyed talking to the different representatives and getting to know some of them. This makes me feel that these schools really care about their students and future students."

AACN plans to expand this initiative and invites member institutions to contribute to its success by participating in future Virtual Fairs.
