AACN Policy WatchBREAKING NEWS: House Passes Continuing Resolution to Avoid Government Shutdown

Yesterday, the House of Representatives passed the Senate's short-term continuing resolution (CR) by a vote of 370-48, sending the measure to the President’s desk for signature. The CR would fund the government through December 11, 2026, averting a shutdown, while also delaying implementation of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) proposed rule.

Department of Education Releases Accreditation Proposed Rule

On August 20, the Department of Education (ED) released a proposed rule titled, "Accreditation, Innovation, and Modernization." ED is accepting public comments on the proposed rule through September 21. TAKE ACTION: Additional Ways to Support Title VIII Nursing Workforce Reauthorization Act (H.R.3593/S.1874)
