2022 Faculty Development Pre-Conference to Focus on the Essentials
This year's event, to be held before Transform 2022 in Chicago, Illinois, has been re-envisioned to focus on the implementation of the AACN Essentials.

Sessions will include insights on:
  • Key Tools and Tips for Success While Navigating Essentials Implementation
  • Moving from Traditional Curriculum and Course Learning Objectives to Competency-Based Education (CBE)
  • Creating a Structure, Process, and Defined Outcomes to Successfully Transition to CBE
  • Ways to Incorporate the Essentials Into Simulation Scenarios and Utilizing Simulation to Assess Competencies

Become Your School's Essentials Champion
AACN's Essentials Champions will serve as their school’s central point of contact and communication liaison who will have access to a new network of leaders engaged in Essentials implementation. Champions will be encouraged to share updates and information with their administrative staff, faculty, practice partners, and students, as well as identify issues, ask questions, and share ideas during virtual Q&A sessions held each quarter with AACN staff leaders. If you would like to become your school's Essentials Champion, contact your dean and ask to be your school’s representative. Please direct any questions to essentials@aacnnursing.org

Register Now: NursingCAS Discover Nursing Virtual Fair

NursingCAS member schools are encouraged to register now for the Discover Nursing Virtual Fair, to be held Thursday, November 17, 2022. Registered programs may host a booth and virtually chat with prospective students at this live, online recruitment event. Last year, 113 schools engaged 2,314 students from 49 states and 41 countries. Personalize your booth and event to host interactive chats, panel discussions, and presentations by deans, faculty, nurses, and staff. Participating programs will receive a complete list of all registrants’ names and emails. Schools are encouraged to promote this event to their prospects and future matriculants as a strategic enrollment management event. Registration is $395.
 
AACN’s NursingCAS provides colleges with a FREE admissions platform to efficiently manage data-driven application reviews using cloud-based software. Learn why 290 colleges of nursing and 61,000 student applicants used NursingCAS last year to manage their nursing school applications.

CNL Awards Seeks Nominations

AACN and the CNC are pleased to announce that we are accepting nominations for the 2023 CNL Educator and Vanguard Awards. The recipients of these prestigious awards will receive a complimentary registration to the 2023 CNL Summit and Research Symposium, a commemorative award, and a CNL lapel pin. Award winners will also receive national recognition at the CNL Summit, and be featured on AACN’s website, newsletters, and publications. Nominate a trailblazer for one of the following awards: 
  • CNL Vanguard Award - This national award recognizes a certified CNL for innovative and outstanding professional performance and advocacy of the CNL skill set. In addition, the award promotes the contributions of the CNL in transforming health care. 
     
  • CNL Educator Award - This national award recognizes a CNL faculty member or education program director for innovative and outstanding preparation and advocacy of CNLs. In addition, the award promotes the contributions of the CNL faculty member in transforming nursing education and promoting innovation in both academia and practice.
