AACN Response to the Legislative Actions Impacting DEI

AACN Appoints Dr. Brigit Carter as New Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer

AACN is pleased to announce that Brigit M. Carter, PhD, RN, CCRN, FAAN, will officially join the association staff in the role of Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer, effective February 1, 2023.


Cultural Humility Toolkit 
October 13, 2022
In the September/October 2022 issue of Nurse Educator, Dr. Cynthia Foronda from the University of Miami and colleagues published a Cultural Humility Toolkit. The authors suggest a variety of teaching tools and strategies to integrate cultural humility into nursing education programs, including ground rules, an environmental assessment, examination of the curriculum landscape and teaching materials, and bias awareness activities, among others.
