Teaching Resource Database

Search for peer-reviewed resources designed to assist faculty and others engaged in implementing the Essentials.

This database includes extracted resources from the 18 Domain and Concept Tool Kit Working Groups. This database is continuously evolving and new teaching resources will be posted. All resources will be reviewed regularly for currency and relevance with new resources added as appropriate.  Each resource includes the following:

  • Overview and How to Use
  • Recommended Learning Strategies
  • Recommended Assessment Strategies
  • Possible Courses 
  • Additional Resources and Publications
  • Subcompetencies Mapping to Domains

Do you have a specific resource or teaching tool that can help faculty implement the Essentials into their curriculum? AACN is currently seeking additional resources for the teaching resource database.  Note: All submissions will undergo a peer-review process.

How does the database search work?

The database will search by keyword, domain, concept, and sub-competency. Click on the magnifying glass icon to execute the search. To start a new search, click the clear results button.  

How are search results ordered?

Search results  are ranked by many favors, including the date posted (more recent postings are favored). 

What are the labeled boxes under each resource?

The labels show you what domain, concept, and level that resource contains.

What can I find within each resource?

Each resource will provide you the following:

  • Overview or how to use the resource
  • Integrative Learning Strategies
  • Assessment Strategies
  • Exemplars (if applicable)
  • Possible Courses
  • Additional Resources/Publications
  • Domains and sub-competencies
  • Concept* (if applicable)
