The Power of Coaching: Transforming Faculty Feedback for Competency-Based Success

Virtual Workshop | November 10, 2025

Description

As nursing education evolves with the AACN Essentials and shifts toward competency-based education (CBE), the way we approach feedback must also transform. Gone are the days of the one-way critique—today’s faculty are called to become dynamic coaches who champion learner growth across all domains of nursing practice.

Join us on November 10, 2025 from 11:00 am–4:30 pm (ET) for a hands-on, interactive workshop designed to energize your teaching and elevate your impact. You'll explore how to step into the role of faculty coach, embracing formative assessment and developmental feedback as powerful tools to guide learner progression. Through engaging activities and real-world scenarios, you’ll develop core coaching skills that translate seamlessly into didactic, clinical, and simulation settings.

But effective feedback is more than just giving—it’s about receiving, reflecting, and growing. That’s why this workshop also highlights the role of the learner in the feedback process. Together, we’ll build strategies to boost feedback literacy for you and your students, ensuring meaningful learning and professional development across all spheres of care and levels of practice.

Walk away with practical skills, renewed purpose, and the tools to make feedback a cornerstone of your competency-based teaching.

Readiness Goals:

  • Develop feedback literacy in ourselves and our learners
  • Apply coaching techniques across the curriculum
  • Use advocacy-inquiry to develop learners at all stages of development

Participants may earn up to 4.5 CEUs for Nursing Continuing Professional Development.
