AACN Comments on the Proposed 2021 Physician Fee Schedule

On September 29, AACN submitted official comments on the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ proposed 2021 Physician Fee Schedule. AACN expressed support for CMS’ continued efforts to reduce restrictive and unnecessary regulatory burdens and eliminate wasteful Medicare expenditures, while increasing patient access to affordable, high-quality care. AACN also took the opportunity to offer specific recommendations, such as requesting that the Quality Payment Programs encourage and support clinical preceptors for all healthcare education, calling for CMS to continue to reduce barriers and increase access to telehealth, and amending statutory language to ensure that health-related federal committees and boards reflect diverse representation of the health workforce.
